Useful when an application needs to run in several regions at one price, since VX1 rates are the same globally. Instances bill hourly with no monthly cap and have no local disk, so block storage (about $0.10/GB-month for NVMe) is part of the real cost unless you pick the NVMe variant. Egress beyond the 2 TB free per account costs $0.01/GB, in line with DigitalOcean's overage and far below the hyperscalers.

VX1 General Purpose (dedicated vCPUs, 4 GB per vCPU), New Jersey; prices are the same globally. Billed hourly with no monthly cap (730 hours). No local disk: boot from block storage (~$0.10/GB-month NVMe) or pick the VX1 NVMe variant ($55.48/month for 2 vCPU). Egress: 2 TB/month free per account, then $0.01/GB; the per-plan transfer allowance the API lists for VX1 (5–10 TB) is not modelled because how it applies isn't documented. Optimized Cloud General Purpose ($60/month for 2 vCPU, 8 GB) includes NVMe and 5–9 TB transfer. Shared Cloud Compute starts at $5/month (1 vCPU, 1 GB, 1 TB transfer).
