Akamai Cloud (Linode)
Linode's VMs under Akamai. New G8 dedicated plans bill hourly with metered egress at $0.005/GB.
Hourly-billed VMs suit teams that want a US provider with Akamai behind it, and new accounts get a $100 credit for 60 days to test them. The G8 Dedicated price covers local SSD and one public IPv4, but unlike DigitalOcean these plans add nothing to a pooled transfer allowance, so egress is usage-based at $0.005/GB (a rate Akamai has not explicitly confirmed for G8). There is no monthly cap on billing, and Jakarta and São Paulo cost more than the core US regions.

G8 Dedicated CPU plans (4 GB per vCPU), core US regions, billed hourly since 1 July 2026 with no monthly cap (730 hours). Price includes local SSD (82 GB per 2 vCPU) and one public IPv4. G8 plans add no transfer to the account pool; egress is usage-based at $0.005/GB in core regions (Akamai's API lists this rate; that it applies to G8 was not explicitly confirmed). Legacy G6 Dedicated plans (2 GB per vCPU, from $36/month) still include 4–8 TB transfer each. Jakarta is ~20% and São Paulo ~40% more. No public commitment discounts.
