Serving data to the internet is where R2 pays off: egress is free, so the bill is $0.015 per GB-month of storage plus $4.50 per million writes and lists and $0.36 per million reads. That fits public assets and downloads, though read-heavy workloads with many small requests still accrue operation fees, unlike Backblaze B2 or Wasabi, which charge none for reads. An Infrequent Access class at $0.01 per GB-month adds retrieval fees, and buckets can be restricted to EU data centres on any plan.
